With Windows 10, Microsoft has added a ton of new keyboard shortcuts to give you easier access to the new Action Center, Cortana, Task View, and virtual desktops. So much so, in fact, that Microsoft recently released a handy-dandy to aid in your study. If you’re new to keyboard shortcuts, however, one glance at that list can be overwhelming—and there are plenty of keyboard shortcuts that don't involve the Windows key whatsoever. To help you streamline it a bit, here’s a list of 20 must-know shortcuts for Windows 10.
This isn’t just a list for Windows 10, however. Many of these shortcuts work with older versions of Windows, and you'll find a few standard browser shortcuts as well.
If you’re on Windows 7 or 8.1 but new to shortcuts this list will also help you take control of your Windows machine and make you more efficient by lessening your dependence on the mouse.

Use the keyboard to move around the ribbon The ribbon is the strip at the top of Word, organized by tabs.
Each tab displays a different ribbon. Ribbons are made up of groups, and each group includes one or more commands. You can access every command in Word by using a shortcut. To do this Press To use Backstage view, open the File page. Alt+F To use themes, colors, and effects, such as page borders, open the Design tab. Alt+G To use common formatting commands, paragraph styles, or to use the Find tool.
Open Home tab. Alt+H To manage Mail Merge tasks, or to work with envelopes and labels, open Mailings tab. Alt+M To insert tables, pictures and shapes, headers, or text boxes, open Insert tab. Alt+N To work with page margins, page orientation, indentation, and spacing, open Layout tab. Alt+P To type a search term for Help content, open 'Tell me' box on ribbon.

Spacebar or Enter Open a selected menu or gallery on the ribbon. Spacebar or Enter Finish modifying a value in a control on the ribbon, and move focus back to the document.
